International premium cabin passengers flying American Airlines will now get to enjoy a new lounge at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. American Airlines just unveiled its new luxury lounge in Terminal 3 between Concourses H and K.

The new Flagship Lounge spans 17,000 square feet of space. It is directly beneath the Admiral's Club, American Airlines other premier lounge area. The lounge will easily accommodate 300 travelers at any given time, and will be open between 3:30 am and 10:00pm daily.

The lounge features a manned Chef Station so that individual meals can be created along with a hot and cold buffet area featuring in season produce and fresh dishes. Travelers can also use the 'Create your own cocktail' area of the lounge or use the self-service wine and champagne bar. Quiet rooms and private showers will also be available for all guests of the lounge.

Access to the lounge will be given to the following flyers on American Airlines:

  • All premium passengers ticket on qualifying transcontinental flights any international flights, except flights to Canada
  • All AAdvantage Elite frequent flyers including Platinum, Platinum Pro, and Executive Platinum flyers on eligible international flights
  • Aadvantage ConciergeKey elites
  • All flyers who have top level status on partner airlines that participate in the OneWorld frequent travelers program

This new lounge is believed to be the result of American Airlines' competition with United Airlines. Recently, United unveiled its new Polaris Lounge as part of its new marketing program. The Polaris lounge has attracted so many passengers that United has already begun construction on the expansion of it.
