Amtrak is pleased to announce its buy-one-get-one-free offer for select long-distance overnight routes is up and running. If you have been wanting to see the United States via riding the rails, now's a fantastic time to make that dream a reality.

Available exclusively on Amtrak's official website from October 8 through October14, travelers who purchase a roomette or bedroom can go on an adventure with a family member or friend at half the usual cost (split between two) since you can purchase one regular fare and get the other free.

Travel is valid from November 11, 2019 to April 8, 2020 although some blackout dates apply. The blackout dates are: November 21-December 3, 2019; December 21-23, 2019; and December 27, 2019-January 3, 2020. Additionally, keep in mind the current BOGO offer is not valid for travel on the Auto Train. Other terms and conditions apply.

Amtrak's roomette lets passengers enjoy daytime seating that converts into a bed at night. Amenities include meals, access to a personal room attendant, pillows, bed linens, fresh towels, reading lights, fold-down table, a small closet, electrical outlets and climate controls.

Amtrak's bedroom is more spacious compared to a roomette, and it offers a sink and vanity accompanied by enclosed toilet and shower facilities, in addition to boasting a larger window and all the amenities offered by Amtrak's roomette.

For those who haven't heard, Amtrak is scaling back on dining car service on some routes. Overnight passengers aboard Amtrak's Capitol Limited, Cardinal, City of New Orleans, Crescent, Lake Shore Limited or Silver Meteor can experience Amtrak's new flexible dining service.
