As the COVID-19 outbreak continues its spread across the United States with a vengeance and the government is ordering Americans to remain at home as much as possible, it's difficult not to think of the current situation as the new normal that we now have to live with, at least until the COVID-19 pandemic is under control.

Nobody knows exactly when that day would be, but it is for certain that we all are looking forward to that special day when the confusion and fear that so many of us are feeling right now will go away, and things fall back into place. For now, it is only responsible that we practice social distancing, avoid crowds and congregating. Sure, our social life may take a hit and many will be bored, but this too shall pass.

Regardless of whether you are working from home, serving a quarantine or just afraid to get out of the house, take heart that technology has enabled us to continue on with life in the most convenient way possible.

It is ok if you don't feel comfortable going to the grocery stores to pick up groceries in person, it is also ok if you don't feel like making a trip just to order takeout. There are alternatives that we can turn to, like ordering food and groceries online or through mobile apps to be delivered right to your doorstep. If your finances allow, you can even continue shopping online from retailers such as Nordstrom and Sephora even though they have temporarily shut their brick-and-mortar stores across North America.

To make each dollar you spend on your online purchases go further, be sure to use a rewards credit card or cash back credit card to pay for these purchases.
