Who said getting around some of California's busiest neighborhoods has to be stressful? There's a new perk for Metrolink riders that you'll want to know about if you fly in or out of the Los Angeles area frequently. You'll now receive Lyft rides for free when you depart from four stations on your way to California's Ontario International Airport (ONT). The free rides each have a value of up to $35. Here are the stations that qualify:

  • Montclair
  • Upland
  • Rancho Cucamonga
  • Ontario-East

Free rides are available between the airport and the stations from 3:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. How can you get hooked up with a free ride to Ontario's airport? Simply enter GOSBCTA into the promo code on your Lyft app to be connected to the promotion. Even riders without smart devices can take advantage of this offer. You can simply call (909) 235-5544 to book your request. Passengers who use mobility devices can participate in the program by calling (866) 946-4938 to request rides.

Free Lyft rides are coming to ONT just as the airport is seeing an increase in traffic. The airport handled close to 3.6 million passengers between January and August of this year. That figure represents a year-over-year increase of 10 percent.

Lyft is actually taking advantage of a big opportunity by participating in the new program at ONT. Uber famously stopped serving Ontario's airport in September in response to the introduction of higher-than-average rideshare fees.
