Cathay Pacific has opened its newly renovated Cathay Pacific Lounge near departure gate D69 in Shanghai Pudong International Airport's Terminal 2. The revamped Cathay Pacific Lounge offers more than 10,000 square feet of peace and serenity for guests looking to hide away from the hustle and bustle at the busy airport.

Cathay Pacific's newly renovated lounge sports the award-winning lounge design featured in the carrier's other remodeled lounges. Guests can expect the lounge to emanate a warm, inviting vibe when they are at the lounge.

Designed by a London-based studio led by Ilse Crawford, the lounge features floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for natural light to fill the space. The interior is decorated using wood, brass and leather, creating a homely feeling with plenty of sophisticated touches. For instance, Alcantara-upholstered designer furniture is available for guests looking to socialize or unwind.

The open-kitchen Noodle Bar features many favorites, including Sichuan-style dan dan noodle dishes, Cantonese wonton egg noodles with soup, and a local Shanghai favorite, xiao long bao dumplings. Smaller dishes or snack size food and cocktails and other drinks are also available at the lounge for guests to enjoy.

The lounge also boasts an open-ceiling food hall where guests can help themselves to an assortment of international cold and hot dishes, baked treats, cold cuts and cheeses. Those who want to drink can pick from a selection of spirits and wines at the self-service bar. Guests can, of course, mix their own pre-flight cocktails and have some fun while they are at it.

One of the most prominent features of the refreshed lounge is the veranda. Called The Terrace, this is an open-ceiling L-shaped seating area that gives guests a stunning view of the runway and apron area of the airport. There are dining tables there, so feel free to dine while feasting your eyes on the panoramic views!

Passengers holding First and Business Class tickets, Marco Polo Club members holding Silver or higher elite statuses, Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members and any passenger who has a valid lounge pass can gain access to the lounge. The lounge has a seating capacity of 305. It is open daily from 5.30am to 9.00pm.
