Already Seattle-Tacoma International Airport's fastest growing carrier, Delta Air Lines has jsut announced a new daily nonstop service from Seattle to Tampa, Florida. Delta's new Seattle-Tampa route is scheduled to launch on March 11, 2020.
Passengers flying with Delta on the Seattle-Tampa route will get to choose from seats in Main Cabin, Delta Comfort+, and First Class. For those who are wondering, Delta will operate the flights using its Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The flight from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Tampa International Airport has been strategically timed to let passengers arrive ‘in time for a sunset dinner'. The flight will depart Seattle-Tacoma at 7.40am and arrive in Tampa at 4pm. The return flight will depart Tampa at 4.45pm and arrive back in Seattle-Tacoma at 8.15pm in the evening. All times local. For those who are wondering, Tampa is 3 hours ahead of Seattle.
As usual, all passengers can enjoy power at every seat, free inflight entertainment on seatback screens or their own personal device, as well as the abiilty to purchase inflight Wi-Fi access. And in case you were wondering, Delta remains hopeful in offering complimentary Wi-Fi to all someday, but this ambitious project remains a work in progress.
On another note, Delta will not be the only US carrier to offer the direct service linking Seattle and Tampa. Alaska Airlines has been flying daily between Seattle and Tampa since 2004.
For now, Alaska Airlines operates the Seattle-Tampa service once daily. However, starting December 19, 2019, Alaska Airlines will be adding a second daily flight between the two cities. The second daily flight from Seattle-Tacoma will depart at 9.40pm in the evening while the first daily flight from Seattle-Tacoma departs at 8.25am in the morning.
