Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico have come together to reinforce connectivity between Detroit and Mexico by launching a new route. Beginning May 1, 2019, the airlines will start serving the route between the Motor City and San Luis Potosi, Mexico. San Luis Potosi is one of the Mexican states with the highest economic growth in addition to being a key market for the automotive industry.

Flight AM2741 will take travelers from Detroit to San Luis Potosi on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The flight is scheduled to depart Detroit at 3:45pm and arrive in San Luis Potosi at 7:13pm. All times local.

Flight AM2740 will take travelers from San Luis Potosi to Detroit on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The flight is scheduled to leave San Luis Potosi at 9:21am and arrive in Detroit at 2:20pm. All times local.

For travelers looking to shuttle between the United States and Mexico, you will be be happy to know Aeromexico provides customers with greater access to Mexico through its hubs in Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City while Delta offers flyers service in the United States through its connecting hubs in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Minneapolis-St. Paul, New York-JFK, Salt Lake City, Seattle and of course, Detroit. Both Delta and Aeromexico are founding members of the SkyTeam global airline alliance.

Delta and Aeromexico have a Joint Cooperation Agreement in place that allows both carriers to craft an expanded and more robust transborder route network that enhances competition between Mexico and the United States. At this time, the two airlines offer over 1,100 transborder flights weekly.
