As Dubai has become increasingly popular amongst travelers as a cruise destination, Emirates has taken the liberty to open its very first remote check-in terminal dedicated to cruise passengers. Newly opened at Port Rashid, the Dubai-based carrier's new check-in counters will let passengers disembarking from their cruise ships to conveniently check in for their onward Emirates flight at the facility.

The complimentary service is available up to 4 hours ahead of Emirates passengers' scheduled flight departure time, similar to formalities at Dubai International Airport located approximately 9.5 miles away from Port Rashid.

The remote Emirates check-in terminal is open during Dubai's cruise sailing season between October and April. Emirates staff will be on-site to help customers check in their bags as well as issue passengers' boarding passes.

Emirates is anticipating its new remote check-in terminal at Port Rashid to be well-received. According to the airline, about 280,000 cruise passengers with onward Emirates flights are expected to disembark from cruise ships at Port Rashid over the next 6 months.

Needless to say, nobody likes to lug their heavy bags along while they sight-see and enjoy what a new holiday destination has to offer in a limited amount of time. The complimentary service is a fabulous way for cruise passengers with short transit time to explore more of what Dubai has to offer hassle-free before they arrive at the airport for their flight.

The convenient and practical perk of not having to carry or roll one's luggage along while on the move is always a good idea. Emirates is confident its new service will help enhance Dubai's position as a top-notch international cruise destination. At the same time, the carrier gets to further impress its customers with the newly added free service. Extra brownie points to Emirates for dreaming up an unconventional way to improve the overall travel experience for its customers!
