Are you really getting enough from your preferred airline loyalty program? It turns out that members of one loyalty program are getting more than all the rest. United's MileagePlus loyalty program just earned the title of the Best Reward Program in the Americas from the folks over at FlyerTalk. The results were tallied using an annual survey that asks users to evaluate popular travel programs and benefits. United was actually a big winner in more categories than one this year. The FlyerTalk community also named the Economy Plus upgrade provided to MileagePlus Premier members as the top benefit offered by any airline in the Americas.

Why are travelers so impressed with the MileagePlus program in 2019? The program actually offers the highest number of award destinations of any carrier in the United States. MileagePlus members are able to earn award miles when they fly directly with United and United Express or when they fly using Star Alliance airlines and partner airlines. Reward miles can also be earned when members purchase products from United partners around the world. For the uninitiated, the reward miles can be used to book air travel, hotel stays, car rentals as well as exclusive MileagePlus experiences.

There's a pretty good chance that United's MileagePlus program isn't done when it comes to winning awards. Many new perks are being rolled out by the program. That includes the launch of a highly anticipated credit card that offers two miles for every dollar spent on United purchases. That card also offers users discounts during the flight experience. The popular MileagePlusX app also just got some upgrades that make it easier for members to earn and use their reward miles while doing everyday things. Additionally, there's also a new boarding process that allows MileagePlus members with Premier 1K and Premier Gold status to board earlier.
