There's some big news coming out of Club Med. The resort brand is in the midst of a big expansion of its Guadeloupe resort. We now know that the revamped Club Med La Caravelle will be unveiled to guests on Dec. 21. This winter may prove to be the biggest season yet for Club Med in the French West Indies. JetBlue is set to launch new flights to Pointe-a-Pitre from John F. Kennedy International Airport three times per week beginning in February.

You may already be a fan of Club Med's resort in the popular beach community of Sainte-Anne if you regularly visit the French West Indies. You may become an even bigger fan once you learn that Club Med has poured $44 million into upgrades and renovations at its resort on the island of Guadeloupe. Many new details about the revamped resort have been released ahead of the December launch date.

What can future Club Med customers expect when they visit Guadeloupe? Club Med is adding 180 new rooms. In addition, we know that a new 42-unit project called Zen Oasis will be added to the mix. Zen Oasis will be an adults-only space overlooking the beach at La Caravelle. Club Med also has plans to open up 76 new club rooms and 12 family suites right by the sea.

We also know that the renovation project will include a new eatery called Beach House, a new bar called the Rum Cellar and Lounge Bar along with a new state-of-the-art spa. The new Club Med spa will be notable due to its location right on the beach. In addition, guests will be able to enjoy the spa's multiple treatment rooms and beauty salon.
