Hilton Hotels announced that the new Home2 Suites by Hilton San Francisco Airport North is officially open. The brand-new hotel represents a few new milestones for Home2 Suites by Hilton. First and foremost, this is the very first modular built hotel under the Home2 Suites by Hilton brand.

A modularly built structure is different than an on-site built building. The modular hotel was built in 'pieces' inside of a warehouse and was brought to the property site for final assembly. This building method allows the construction of the components to be carried out in a controlled situation. This improves quality control and reduces the time needed for construction because there are no weather delays.

Once the components are completed, they are brought to the site and secured together to create the completed building. Hilton chose this method because it was innovative and reduced the time needed to construct the hotel to only 16 months.

Additionally, the modular hotel has allowed Hilton to pursue its mission of making its new properties more environmentally-friendly. Sustainable materials were used wherever possible in the construction of the building. Solar power will account for approximately 50 percent of the power used by the hotel. A bio-retention pond is also in use so the hotel can reduce its carbon footprint.

The new Home2 Suites by Hilton San Francisco Airport North property has 155 suites that are modern and spacious. The hotel features tech-focused and eco-conscious amenities, large gathering spaces and has a marketplace, a gaming room, a dining area as well as an exercise and laundry facility. All guests can enjoy complimentary daily breakfast, too.
