The newest National Park in the United States has begun taking reservations for campsites and use of its picnic shelters. The Indiana Dunes National Park received its designation as a national park in February and is the first national park in Indiana.

The park was formerly known as the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and covers 15 acres along beachfront on Lake Michigan. The park has 66 campsites in total and 11 picnic pavilions that are available for use between April and October each year.

The park has decided that it will allow reservations for 34 of the campsites. Visitors can reserve a campsite up to six months in advance. This is a fantastic opportunity for people who are traveling into the area and do not want to risk the chance of not being able to secure a site. The remaining 32 campsites are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

The cost of renting a campsite is $25 per night. This is a great deal for anyone who loves to enjoy the outdoors. The park has many different activities to enjoy, including several different water activities on Lake Michigan. There are also many different activities one can enjoy in the park area.

Indiana Dunes National Park is located only two hours from Chicago by public transportation. This makes it a very popular destination for those traveling out of the big city to enjoy outdoor fun. Indiana Dunes has been a favorite destination for the tri-state area for many years. The new designation as a national park may draw more visitors who enjoy using their park passes.
