The JetBlue Airways TrueBlue Loyalty Program was just ranked in the top spot for overall customer satisfaction. The ranking comes from the J.D. Power 2017 Airline Loyalty Program Satisfaction Study. JetBlue's loyalty program came out ahead of the loyalty programs offered by Alaska Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines.
The highly respected J.D. Power annual survey measures member satisfaction with airline loyalty programs based on four main factors. Those factors are the ability to earn rewards, the ability to redeem rewards, account management, and member communication. J.D. Power measures customer satisfaction on a 1,000-point scale. In addition to ranking loyalty programs, J.D. Power also reveals some insights into what customers are looking for based on the information gathered in the survey.
One of the big things revealed by the 2017 survey is that frequent travelers value getting more miles above anything else. The survey revealed that overall satisfaction increased by 77 points when members were able to earn rewards through purchases made at restaurants. It increased by 68 points when customers were able to earn rewards when booking car rentals. One benefit that increased satisfaction levels across the board was the ability to get the lowest price guaranteed when booking flights. This increased customer satisfaction by 109 points.
Other things revealed by the survey were that status members were much more satisfied than general members and all members were happier when they didn't experience any issues or glitches when attempting to redeem points.
