Marriott International has just unveiled its new loyalty brand - Marriott Bonvoy. Marriott Bonvoy is the name of its combined loyalty program, designed to integrate and replace the current loyalty brands namely Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG). The hotel giant previously launched one loyalty program boasting unified benefits under its three legacy loyalty brands back in August 2018.

While Marriott Bonvoy will only launch on February 13 across all consumer touch-points as Marriott's unified loyalty program officially completes its integration under a single name, Marriott encourages all members across its brands to download the existing Marriott app, which will be automatically updated on February 13 to become the Marriott Bonvoy app. For those who are currently using the SPG and The Ritz-Carlton Rewards apps, keep in mind these two apps will be deactivated with effect from that date.

Besides giving members access to Marriott's massive portfolio of diverse brands featuring an expansive collection of lifestyle and luxury properties as well as the best room rates, Marriott Bonvoy will offer members an unprecedented collection of experiences along with plenty of opportunities to earn and enjoy member benefits. Marriott promises that members will be able to enjoy booking stays, earning and redeeming points across its entire portfolio seamlessly with all that Marriott Bonvoy has to offer. Plus, the new Elite tiers will help Marriott Bonvoy members attain Elite status quicker.

Here are a few things to note once February 13 rolls around:

  • Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite will replace Platinum Premier Elite for members who complete more than 75 nights' stay
  • Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite will replace Platinum Premier Elite with Ambassador for members who complete 100 nights' stay and spend more than $20,000 annually. This is the highest Elite status tier available and it comes with the highest degree of personalization and exclusivity
  • Marriott Rewards Moments and SPG Moments will be known as Marriott Bonvoy Moments. Together with Marriott Moments, members will be able to purchase or redeem points for around 120,000 exclusive experiences in 1,000 destinations available, such as desert treks on camelback in Morocco, hiking into glacial Patagonia, and indulging in once-in-a-lifetime experiences like cooking alongside renowned chefs Daniel Boulud and Eric Ripert

Beyond February 13, Marriott Bonvoy members can keep their eyes peeled for a series of experiential events to be debuted throughout the year.
