Marriott International has announced that in 2019, it will open more than 30 new luxury hotels across the globe. The hotel giant has been expanding its luxury accommodations rapidly for the last few years due to the significant increase in demand for luxury travel.

The new properties will open around the world, including in new locations such as Sri Lanka, Kenya and Morocco. Marriott will launch these new hotels under the following brands: Ritz Carlton, Ritz Carlton Reserve, EDITION, W, J.W. Marriott, St. Regis, Bulgari and The Luxury Collection.

Marriott revealed that it has over 200 properties under construction at this time across the globe. The company will expand into 20 new countries and increase its presence in many areas where Marriott hotels are already found but under different brand names. The company shared that travelers are seeking complete experiences when traveling, and this includes where they stay.

All of Marriott's new properties are designed to enhance guest satisfaction. Open gathering spaces for social interaction have become a mainstay of the new designs. Updated pool and spa areas are also a large part of the new luxury designs Marriott has in store.

Marriott believes that the company is uniquely positioned to meet the needs and demands of luxury travelers. Its presence in over 120 countries and territories with over 6,900 properties makes Marriott a leader in the hotel industry. Expanding its luxury division through these eight brands is just a natural evolution for the company.
