Some upgrades could be in store for cruise lovers sailing with one popular cruise brand. Norwegian Cruise Line is testing a new perks program. Priority Access is a pay-for-perks product that travelers using two of Norwegian's ships can currently purchase. The program offers many of the perks that are already provided to elite-tier members of Norwegian's Latitudes loyalty program.

Norwegian's Priority Access program is currently open to guests traveling on Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Sky. Norwegian will use these two ships to test the popularity of the program before determining if it will be rolled out on a fleet-wide basis. Cruise guests who opt to pay for special access will enjoy VIP treatment, shorter wait times and luxurious perks. Here's a look at what guests can look forward to enjoying when they sign up for Priority Access:

  • Priority boarding and check-in privileges.
  • Tender priority for ports.
  • Priority debarkation.
  • A breakfast menu for room service.
  • A $50 port-day spa credit.
  • Free canapé service on the second day of a voyage.

Pricing for Norwegian's Priority Access varies based on how many days you'll be traveling. Prices range from $69 to $199 for various itineraries. It's important to note that prices aren't applied on a per-person basis. Access to all that's offered by the Priority Access program is actually applied on a per-cabin basis. Priority Access is only available for passengers staying in a select number of cabins during the program's trial period.
