Two new American Express lounges are being planned for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) this year. We know that one of the new lounges will be a private Centurion Lounge. The second will be a general-use Escape Lounge. The other detail that is known as of right now is that the lounges will be in Terminal 4. However, we don't yet know when the new lounges are expected to be open to the public.

The new American Express lounges that are coming to PHX will take up a total of 9,500 square feet of space. The lounges will actually share an entrance. That doesn't mean that travelers will be doing a ton of mingling. Each lounge will have its own reception area where guests will check in and be greeted.

The Escape Lounge will be open to anyone who would like to enter as long as they pay an entrance fee. The cost will be $45 at the door or $40 if you book online ahead of time. Guests who visit the lounge will enjoy cocktails, beer, coffee, espresso and a locally inspired menu. Guests can also take advantage of a digital library with access to more than 7,000 publications that can be enjoyed via noise-canceling headphones from Bose. The other perks being offered include televisions, charging stations, up-to-date flight information, showers and high-speed Wi-Fi access.

Travelers using the Centurion Lounge will get all of the perks of the Escape Lounge. They will also enjoy a premium bar, semi-private work areas and one-on-one help from staff members regarding travel questions and account requests. Only American Express Platinum and Centurion cardholders can access the Centurion Lounge.
