Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced that beginning on October 1, 2019, the cruise line will incorporate more than 200 new plant-based items into its cruise menus. The luxury cruise line has stated that many travelers have requested more exotic foods on these luxury cruises. What's more, the cruise line has also seen a surge in vegetarian and vegan travelers.

The new menu items are not just your basic vegetables. Menu items will include items like wild mushroom tart with brittle pie crust, poke bowls, traditional Indian red lentil and coconut soup, peach and blueberry cobbler with cornmeal and almond toppings etc. They will be available at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

All the new menu items have been designed to incorporate flavors from around the world. Vietnamese spring rolls, hummus and falafel will be added to the menu as well as oatmeal-banana pancakes with maple syrup and berries. By pulling delicious dishes from around the world, guests can embark on a more holistic travel experience, all while eating healthy.

The new menu items have been developed exclusively for the cruise line through the efforts of the VP of food and beverage for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Bernhard Klotz, and renowned chef-cum-culinary instructor-cum-author, Christophe Berg. The plant-based menu items will be incorporated right into the regular daily menus.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises believes this is a very good move for enhancing the overall travel experience of its clients. Globally, 9 out of 10 vegetarian or vegan dishes are routinely ordered by cruise passengers who aren't vegans.
