Marriott has announced that the hotel giant will debut a Residence Inn property in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico, in 2021. The brand new 231-room property is the first new-branded property to be built near San Juan in over 25 years. The Residence Inn in Isla Verde will be located minutes from the Luis Munoz Marin International Airport and the world-famous Isla Verde Beach.

The new property is a 9-story structure that will offer guests rooms ranging from 434 to 588 square feet of space. Each room will have a full kitchen and separate workspace from the living space. All rooms are decorated to reflect the local culture, which will include artwork from local artists.

The hotel will also be home to a large restaurant overlooking Avenida Isla Verde, a gym as well as ample meeting space. The property also features an outdoor terrace, a swimming pool, a playground that includes water play features along with an interior-exterior bar.

This new property has been developed to be environmentally-friendly. Sustainable measures will be employed throughout the construction and operation of the hotel, such as energy-saving and water-efficient measures, lighting controls, indoor air quality management plans as well as electric vehicle charging stations. Marriott wants to reassure guests that the guest experience will not be inhibited in any way. Instead, guests can look forward to an enhanced experience during their stay.

The new hotel is set to open in November 2021. This is the second new property that Marriott is opening in Puerto Rico in as many years. Marriott recently opened an Aloft branded hotel in San Juan this year.
