Royal Caribbean just added a new vegan menu to its main dining rooms. The cruise line is always looking for ways to raise the bar of its dining offerings. With new vegan options, frequent vegan cruisers as well as those who are looking for meat-free alternatives are sure to be pleased.
Some of the new offerings include:
- Edamame-stuffed portobello mushrooms
- Vegan spaghetti bolognaise
- Orzo pasta stew with green vegetables
- An assortment of new desserts
The cruise line had already offered plenty of plant-based food at the Windjammer buffet. Luckily for vegans, this will continue as the buffet will remain open, and now they will have a more formal setting to enjoy vegan food.
While it's too early to say if its vegan menu will be popular, if it is, the cruise line will probably increase its vegan offerings as time goes on. Needless to say, even if you take a cruise that doesn't offer a specific menu, most cruise lines will work with you and provide tasty vegan options upon request.
Royal Caribbean isn't the first cruise line to take notice and offer specific vegan food options. In 2017, Oceania Cruises, the world's leading culinary-focused cruise line, unveiled a plant-based menu with more than 250 dishes.
Although Carnival Cruise Line hasn't introduced a vegan menu per se, delicious vegan meals are available on board at the various restaurants. Vegan options are available via room service on Carnival cruises as well.
Celebrity Cruises, on the other hand, has a specific vegetarian menu in its main restaurant that's perfect for vegans. That said, the vegetarian menu is only available for lunch and dinner. The cruise line offers vegan options at several of its eating establishments, too.
