Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is extremely pleased to announce its first of eight new Airbus A350 aircraft will officially enter service next January. Long-haul passengers shuttling between Copenhagen and Chicago will be the first ones to experience the Star Alliance member airline's new aircraft and all that it has to offer beginning January 28, 2020.
That said, Scandinavian Airlines has revealed that it plans to use the fuel-efficient long-haul A350 aircraft on six other routes in 2020. These long-haul routes include those linking Copenhagen to New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. The carrier is expecting to take delivery of its first A350 plane in late 2019.
Scandinavian Airlines' A350 aircraft offers a total of 300 seats, including 40 SAS Business, 32 SAS Plus and 228 SAS Go seats.
The SAS Business seat converts to offer Business Class passengers a fully flat bed. Passengers flying in this cabin will also get to enjoy gourmet meals and proper espresso onboard, check in two large bags (up to 71 lbs each), take two carry-ons (up to 18 lbs each) and a small handbag or laptop bag onboard. In addition to going through security with SAS Fast Track, SAS Business passengers get to enjoy access to SAS Lounges, free high-speed internet onboard and more.
