Southwest Airlines not only offers flights to Hawaii from the mainland, but the low-cost airline also offers interisland flights. Just recently, Southwest inaugurated a new route linking Honolulu and Hilo.

While the Honolulu to Hilo flight debuted last week, it wasn't the only new route that Southwest Airlines opened up. Southwest also introduced flights between Kailua-Kona and Maui. The Kailua-Kona to Maui flight will take off once a day, while the Honolulu-Hilo route will be offered four times a day.

Southwest is also busy adding flights between the mainland and the islands. Alternating service between Kailua-Kona and San Jose and Oakland recently debuted as well. Flights to and from San Jose are offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while Oakland gets flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Those in Sacramento also have a new daily flight option. Southwest now offers flights between Sacramento International Airport and Honolulu.

Southwest airlines has been very busy adding routes to the islands and between them. The airline first introduced flights to Hawaii on March 27, 2019, when it opened up flights from Oakland to Honolulu.

Thus far, Southwest only offers flights to the islands from California. However, in the near future, it may offer flights from destinations such as Seattle or Las Vegas.
