The TWA Hotel JFK opened last spring and has gone out of its way to attract visitors with extra touches. In fact, the hotel has an ice skating rink that will stay open until the end of February. It's not done with the winter spirit. For the winter, the TWA Hotel JFK is offering The Runway Chalet at The Pool Bar. In doing so, the hotel is attempting to replicate a 1960s ski lodge-themed getaway.

The Gerber Group, which operates the The Sunken Lounge and Connie at the hotel, also runs the chalet. The bar is tented and heated and offers a vintage fireplace to set the mood. There are all sorts of drinks to enjoy including a Hot Toddy with Sailor Jerry spiced rum. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, you can enjoy The Weather Delay, which is a hot chocolate with marshmallows, spiked with vodka. Guest will also be able to enjoy a fondue, with either Vermont cheddar or chocolate.

While there won't be any slopes to hit, you can bring your swimsuit if you want. The hotel is turning the pool into a huge jacuzzi - during the entire winter, it will be heated to 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Runway Chalet at The Pool Bar is open from 11AM until 11PM, every day of the week. Non-hotel guests don't have to pay to enter, and there are no minimum purchases required to enter right now. If you aren't a fan of the cold or the winter, you can wait until things warm up and enjoy the awesome rooftop pool that offers views of the runway.
