United Airlines made a big announcement on April 10 that could change your travel plans for the fall. The carrier announced that it is adding a number of new Florida routes. The big addition will be new year-round service from Dulles to Fort Meyers and Sarasota beginning on Oct. 29. Service to both destinations will be offered twice daily.

What's more, United is also adding extended seasonal service between Dulles and Miami starting in October. That's nearly two months earlier than the airline had originally planned. Here's a full rundown of what United's updated fall schedule for Florida routes looks like:

  • Chicago to Destin/Fort Walton Beach, Key West, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, West Palm Beach, Panama City, Pensacola, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Tampa.
  • Cleveland to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa.
  • Denver to Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Fort Myers, Tampa, Miami, West Palm Beach, Pensacola, Sarasota and Destin/Fort Walton Beach.
  • Houston to Panama City, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Miami, West Palm Beach, Pensacola, Fort Myers, Tampa and Destin/Fort Walton Beach.

This list of routes will become effective beginning on Oct. 27 of this year. United's Florida-focused customers now have more than 130 flights to choose from when flying domestically. Keep in mind that United customers from Fort Myers and Sarasota can also connect easily to 11 destinations throughout Europe with just one stop.
