Denverites will soon have a new way to escape to a warmer climate. United Airlines is adding a new direct route to the Bahamas from the Mile-High City in 2020. However, it looks like the route is only going to be running on Saturdays when it kicks off next year.
What do we know about the new route United Airlines has planned for linking Denver and the Bahamas? We know that the route will connect Denver (DEN) and Nassau (NAS) directly. The start date for the route will be on March 7, 2020. The only downside is that the new route to the Bahamas from United won't be much help if you're interested in planning a fall getaway out of Denver in the future. United will actually suspend service on Aug. 15 to avoid flying directly into the Bahamas during the region's hurricane season. Service for the 2020 season will run from March 7 until Aug. 15. The new route from United Airlines out of Denver actually marks the first time that Nassau will be served by the Colorado hub. Close to 500 people already travel to Nassau from Denver each week.
United customers on the East Coast don't have to wait until the spring to enjoy a new option that will bring them to a new warm-weather destination. United will be treating its customers on the East Coast to a new option for a Caribbean getaway just in time for the winter travel season this year. Direct flights to Curaçao from Newark Liberty International Airport will be launching on Dec. 7.
