United has announced that starting this month it will expand its Kosher food choices on flights to Tel Aviv originating from Newark, Washington DC Dulles and San Francisco. The new menu is part of United's efforts to enhance the overall flight experience for its customers.
United has partnered with Fresko, a New Jersey-based Kosher foods company, to start this new venture. New dishes will include items such as cheese omelet, chicken marsala, blintzes and bagels. Bakery favorites like black and white cookies will also be offered.
United is even creating a Kosher kids menu as part of this new service for the month of March. The children's menu has not been released at this time though we do know they will be available to kids in all cabins traveling from San Francisco or Newark to Tel Aviv.
Passengers traveling in the Polaris cabins will have the opportunity to experience additional Kosher wines as well as Kosher coffee in both regular and decaf variants. Mid-flight packaged snacks for this seating class will also include new Kosher options. Passengers in Premium Plus will also have access to the new mid-flight Kosher snacks.
Additionally, the airline has brought new Kosher wines onboard as well as new snack items that meet Kosher guidelines. If the program is well received, United plans to bring the new product lines to other airports that also service Tel Aviv.
The new Kosher menu items will be available on these flights for this month. However, United anticipates that they will be a successful addition to its services and believes the program will expand after the test period.
The Polaris Lounge at Newark will begin featuring hot a-la-carte options for Kosher menu items in addition to expanding its Kosher snack options. The Polaris Lounge and United Clubs at LaGuardia will also begin carrying Kosher snacks available upon request.
