United Airlines just unveiled a new offer but before you get too excited, the carrier's latest offer is one that's meant only for young adults between the ages of 18 and 22. United Airlines is letting young adults enjoy a 10% discount off flights through the end of the year.

As with most promotions, there are terms and conditions that you need to be aware of as well as certain criteria you need to fulfil in order to enjoy the offer.

Foremost, the offer is only available to United MileagePlus Members between the ages of 18 and 22. United MileagePlus Members within the stated age group must use their own MileagePlus account and book a flight for one person via United's mobile app. Their birth date must, of course, be listed in their MileagePlus profile.

The ongoing promotion is valid from now through December 31, 2019. It applies to all travel booked before December 31 of this year, although some may choose to travel next year. United Airlines has made it clear the promotion applies to flights in the United States, Canada, Mexico and several other international destinations.

So now's a good time to book your flights if you want to snag some discounted tickets for travel over the holidays, before or after peak travel season. It's also a great idea to fly on discounted ‘point-to-point' flights between cities for college football games!

However, keep in mind only seats in Economy and Basic Economy are eligible for the 10% discount. This means affluent young adults will not get to enjoy the discount if they are looking to fly in style in United's Polaris Business Class cabin.

While some may be puzzled why United is targeting such a niche demographic this time round, the carrier revealed it is very keen on ‘starting a relationship with newer, younger customers'. It is a clever move especially since United gets to learn more about what Gen Z travelers seek when it comes to travel and how the airline can better cater to them.

To appeal even more to Gen Z travelers who are interested in more eco-friendly travel options, United has stated it will offer free carbon offsets for the first 25,000 tickets flown using the newly launched promotion, through its Eco-Skies program.
