Even though Virgin Australia is going through tough financial times, the airline is going to continue investing in the customer experience. One way in which the airline is trying to lure more customers and improve the experience is by opening more upscale lounges. The airline just opened a new premium passenger lounge at Brisbane's international airport terminal.

The newest lounge at Brisbane is open to all passengers, no matter what class they are flying. The lounge is operated by No1 Lounges and is the latest pay-as-you-use lounge to open in Australia. There are two other No1 Lounges in Australia. The UK-based company operates lounges in Melbourne and Sydney.

All guests can enjoy the lounge for a maximum of three hours. In addition, Virgin Australia Business Class passengers, Virgin Velocity Platinum and Gold members, along with Virgin Australia Lounge Members traveling to New Zealand will enjoy access to the lounge. The new lounge facility offers amazing views of the tarmac and is located conveniently between gates 76 and 78.

The lounge in Brisbane is more of a social lounge instead of a lounge offering a lot of quiet space or work areas. Those who visit it will enjoy shared tables, where they will be able to mingle more easily. The idea is that many flying out of Brisbane will be going to popular holiday destinations in Southeast Asia or other fun places around the world. Naturally, these leisure travelers will enjoy more of a relaxing atmosphere.

The lounge access fee is not that expensive. It will cost $60 AUD (about $40 USD) to enter the lounge if you book online. The newly opened lounge offers an array of meal options and snacks as well as barista-crafted coffees. The bar offers wine and spirits, a selection of local beers and the Virgin Flamingo, a pink-gin-based cocktail. Dishes will showcase ingredients that are locally sourced, and the selection will change monthly.

There are also free Wi-Fi, charging points, newspapers, magazines and shower facilities available. Kids will be entertained by the large television showing children's programs; the more active children will love the foosball table. The lounge is open daily from 5am to 10pm.
