You may recall hearing about an adults-only cruise line from Richard Branson called Virgin Voyages a while back. The cruise line has yet to offer a maiden voyage for customers. However, some big news regarding the cruise line broke recently: Virgin Voyages has announced that a second ship will be added to its fleet. The new ship is scheduled to offer voyages out of Barcelona beginning in May of 2021. It will match Virgin's first ship by accommodating around 2,770 guests and 1,150 crew members.
What will the itineraries look like when travelers sail to Europe with Virgin Voyages in 2021? Virgin Voyages plans to offer seven-night itineraries out of Barcelona, Spain. We know that trips will include an overnight stay in Ibiza. We also know that guests can choose to make stops in high-demand spots like Monte Carlo, Marseille, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Toulon and Ajacci when planning European getaways with Virgin in 2021.
We don't know much about what to expect for pricing when Virgin launches its new European voyages in 2021. However, the world will know soon enough. Virgin plans to open up bookings for three European itineraries on Dec. 19 of this year. That means that it's not out of the question to surprise someone with a cruise vacation for the holidays this year. Putting a bow on some tickets this December will give you plenty of time to make arrangements for time off in 2021.
Cruise lovers don't have to wait for 2021 to enjoy an exciting experience from Virgin Voyages. The cruise line will be making its official launch in 2020. Virgin's first sailing will be a four-night trip from Miami in April that will take guests to Virgin's private Bimini Beach Club in the Bahamas. The cost for Virgin's Caribbean itineraries will start at $1,300 per stateroom. All guests must be at least 18 years old.
