Virgin Voyages has officially announced its intention to build a new terminal at PortMiami to launch its new cruise line. Sir Richard Branson, along with the CEO of Virgin Voyages, made the announcement at a meeting in Miami this past week. The new terminal would be exclusively used for the Virgin Voyages line.

If the county approves of the terminal, the new building would embrace the essence of Miami. The design would incorporate palm trees into every aspect, including the roof. The palm fronds on the roof would have naturally occurring gaps, just like the real trees, that would allow natural sunlight to flow into the terminal.

The terminal would also embrace everything that sets the Virgin brand name apart. At night, the bright red neon Virgin sign would shine bright, welcoming guests to the terminal area.

Virgin Voyages stated that construction would begin immediately once it receives approval from the Board of County Commission. The cruise line would like to have the terminal open to launch its first ship, the Scarlet Lady, in 2021. Their second ship, which is not yet named, would soon join the Scarlet Lady in early 2022.

Virgin Voyages is an adult-themed cruise line. Passengers must be 18 or over to enjoy the cruise. Everything about the cruise line will be different than your standard cruises. Last month, the cruise line stated that they would eliminate boring buffets and formal dining requirements. More information will be announced as the launch date nears.

Tickets for the maiden voyage on the Scarlet Lady in 2021 for the Caribbean will go on sale on Valentines Day 2019.
